Captivating Customers: Pop Your Window
Pop your window.
Pull me in or push me away… that is the power of a good window display… And you have a nano second to do it.
Yup, the pressure is real.
For your brick-and-mortar store, a physical window is a huge advantage, and of course, there are some tricks of the trade to help you leverage that advantage.
Determine first if you depend on drive by or walk by traffic.
If it's drive by - your display needs to include large elements. If your customer is driving at 50km or more, it needs to be unforgettable and cause them to find parking immediately (or a must stop another time soon).
If you rely on walk by, you can tell your story with smaller items that will engage your customer more personally.
Whether it is large scale or smaller, you have to tell a clear and recognizable story.
Here’s a great example where Johnny Cupcakes communicates a clear and engaging message. Using props, colours, lighting, and signage creates a cohesive and visually engaging storyline that draws customers in.
For over 20 years, Johnny’s has used its windows to lure customers into its brick-and-mortar stores, with windows and store design replicating a frosting-scented, retro-bakery-inspired space. Impossible to not say yum with all my senses firing, and can I please have one of everything!
Nothing tells your window story better than accenting it with the proper lighting.
First, choose what vibe you are trying to create, warm and cozy or bright and vibrant. Then start playing with the lighting complimenting your theme – it’s a game changer.
